AML’s annual conference is an opportunity for members to renew friendships, strengthen partnerships and work together in the public interest. It is also an important venue for companies and organizations, as well as state and federal officials, to connect with community leaders. We hope you’ll join us, and that you bring new and fresh perspectives to the table so that together we can strengthen Alaska’s municipalities.

Training & Networking
The AML 68th Annual Conference begins with Newly Elected Officials Training (NEO) Monday & Tuesday, November 12 & 13.
The AML Conference is Wednesday – Friday, November 14th – 16th.

AML provides the best training in the state on issues facing municipal leaders. The conference also offers networking opportunities between communities and municipal officials. Preconference events for AML Affiliate Associations begin Sunday, November 11, 2018.

Newly Elected Officials (NEO) Training – AGENDA – Coming Soon.
Building a solid leadership foundation begins with AML’s Newly Elected Officials (NEO) Seminar. It is one of Alaska’s most highly regarded training programs for local leaders. Officials who would like a refresher course and those who are newly elected to office are invited to attend. The NEO Seminar takes place on Monday & Tuesday, November 12 & 13, starting at 9:00 a.m. A separate registration fee is required. A $50 discount is offered for NEO participants who also attend the Local Government Conference. Please come and join us!

Priorities, Resolutions & Position Statements
An important part of the Annual Local Government Conference is to discuss and approve the 2019 AML Legislative Priorities, Position Statements and adopt Resolutions on key legislative issues. The process is completed at the 68th Annual Business Meeting on Friday, November 16th at 9:00 a.m. where the membership will review and adopt the 2019 documents.

24th Annual Awards of Excellence
There are several awards; the Elected Municipal Official & Municipal Employee of the Year Awards and the Vic Fischer Local Government Leadership Award for those who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in local government both within their own communities and on a statewide level.  Awards will be presented during the AML President’s Reception on Thursday evening during the Annual Conference.
