Description:
The City Administrator reports directly to the Mayor, and delegates duties as required. He/She is charged with the overall supervision of employees and offices.
Duties will include but are not limited to: Be responsible for grant and contract administration and procurement. Act as local, state, and federal liaison. Assist with formulating and adopting of policies, procedures, ordinances, resolutions, and directives. Update municipal investment policies and seek new alternatives. Attend all meetings of the council. Meet with and direct all department heads weekly. Formulate and adhere to a maintenance schedule for all City properties. Keep job descriptions current and conduct annual employee evaluations. Be well versed in City clerk/treasurer position as a fill-in. Actively participate in budget building, enforcement, and reporting process. Determine long and short range financial needs of the City. Implement adopted capital improvement, economic development, and other comprehensive plans. Be an ex-officio member of all boards and commissions. Perform all duties as assigned by the Mayor.
Qualifications:
Must have experience working for a municipality.
College education not required but is preferred.
