General Description:
The City of Pilot Point, Alaska, a second class city, is seeking an accomplished and forward thinking municipal professional to serve as City Manager. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and serves at their pleasure and under the Council’s direction. The City Manager is responsible for all administration, finance, information technology, planning and community development.
Qualifications:
Ability to work in a rural area. A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration is strongly desired but will consider experience as a Municipal administrator. General knowledge of administrative aspects of Municipal Government, ability to work under pressure and make decisions in accordance with the laws ordinances, regulations and established procedures. Strength in public relations is needed. Experience in a City Council/Manager form of government is preferred, but not mandatory. Candidates will have served as a City Manager of a similar size organization or as Deputy Director in a larger organization. Strong emphasis will be placed on current knowledge of municipal finance, economic development, growth management and transportation issues. Strong interpersonal computer knowledge and communication skills are essential. Ability to follow detailed oral and written direction is desirable.
