  • Do you want over 1,200 appointed and elected municipal officials from around Alaska to become familiar with your business?
  • Would you like to have the names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone, and numbers of these officials?
  • Do you want to know what is going on in the world of the municipal official? Would you like to increase your sales to these officials while saving your company time and money?
  • If you are nodding your head YES to these questions, then you should consider becoming an associate member of the Alaska Municipal League, an association that represents cities and boroughs in the state.

What Do We Do?

The Alaska Municipal League (AML) is a voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of cities, boroughs, and unified municipalities in Alaska that works to improve and assist local government. Over 140 municipalities are currently members of the League and benefit from its informational and advocacy services.

While the purpose of the League is to serve Alaska's municipalities, many businesses and professional groups have also found it advantageous to participate in the League as Associates. Associate membership allows an organization to receive League publications, to be more aware of issues that are of concern to municipal government, and to have more contact with municipal officials.

If your organization deals regularly with Alaska municipal governments, you should consider an Associate membership. Check over the benefits listed below, then fill out the online form. We look forward to working with you and helping you work with municipalities.

Benefits of Associate Membership:

  • A subscription to The Touchstone, the AML newsletter. This quarterly newsletter contains articles on municipal news, meetings, legislation, and other issues of interest to local government officials.
  • A subscription to the AML Legislative E-Bulletin, e-mailed every week during the Alaska legislative session to inform members about legislative activity and municipal positions on legislation.
  • A copy of the Alaska Municipal Officials Directory, issued annually. (Additional copies may be purchased at the member rate.) The Directory includes names of municipal officials elected and appointed, addresses and phone/fax numbers of city halls, and employees of each municipality.
