Job Description

 

Administrative Assistant

 

The mission of the Alaska Municipal League is to represent the unified voice of Alaska's local governments to successfully influence state and federal decision making.  Build consensus and partnerships to address Alaska's challenges, and provide training and joint services to strengthen Alaska's local governments.

 

Definition:  The Administrative Assistant is an entry-level position, handling all the duties of the front office including answering the telephone, distributing mail, ordering office supplies and maintaining them in an orderly manner, handling large mailings, and other clerical functions.  Other functions include assisting in the production of League publications; assisting with meeting arrangements; and other duties assigned. 

 

General Duties:

1.      Maintenance of AML database and communication with members through fax, mailings, and e-mail

2.      Basic reception and general office duties

3.      Periodic Travel

4.      Assist in the distribution of all AML publications

5.      Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Experience:

1.      Experience in Microsoft Office Suite

2.      Must have good oral and written communication skills

3.      Must demonstrate strong customer service abilities
