AML seeks a Program Support Coordinator to join its grants management and compliance team. This role will support communities in accessing and managing public and private funding. It focuses primarily on post award activities that improve project delivery, reduce compliance risk and maximize successful implementation of awarded projects. However, other duties may include helping increase applicant readiness and preparing actual grant applications.

A significant portion of the original workload will focus on the Alaska Department of Health Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) and AML’s role in providing coordinated support to applicants and awardees throughout the RHTP lifecycle from pre-application planning through project closeout.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly organized, and motivated to help Alaska’s communities successfully manage state, federal, and philanthropic funding support.

The AML grants management and compliance team functions in a fast-paced environment that involves working on multiple projects with competing deadlines, often with limited input, short turnaround times, and high expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of key resources for communities managing grant funding. Tools will include templates (budget, workplan, progress reports), guidance documents (procurement, compliance, project management) and checklists (project readiness, grant milestones, compliance issues, risk assessments).
  • Help design and schedule in-person and virtual live technical assistance opportunities for groups of grant recipients, organized cohorts or other large audiences. TA will include office hours, workshops, trainings, and conference sessions. Participate and at times lead in delivery across these formats.
  • Provide small-group working sessions, project coaching, compliance assistance, and milestone planning for identified awardees that need additional and focused support.
  • Support AML staff in providing dedicated specific TA advising, one-on-one coaching, corrective action support, and frequent monitoring for high-risk projects or grantees.
  • Provide consistent and frequent data entry and tracking of assigned grant projects and program metrics in a grant management database (GrantSeeker Pro). With time and training, will be expected to fully utilize GrantSeeker Pro for a variety of compliance and project management tasks.
  • As needed and assigned, assist with proposal coordination, internal review, and submission logistics for AML internal applications or for designated AML partners and shared services recipients.
  • May be assigned responsibilities for tracking and managing parts of AML’s internal grant reporting process for quarterly and semi-annual grant reporting or other internal compliance duties as assigned.
