Affiliates

An affiliate of AML is a group of elected officials and/or municipal employees that works closely with AML to stand as a unified voice for Alaska’s Municipalities. Any non-profit association of municipal officials, whose membership may include non-municipal officials, but whose bylaws give majority control of the governing body of the organization to municipal officials within the organization, or any municipal or Rural Education Attendance Area school district (REAA).

While a some of our Affiliate members require assistance of AML with their finances, conferences, and other day to day operations, others have joined solely as partners for awareness of AML activities and to be a part of what AML is doing to strengthen Alaska’s local governments’ ability to govern their own affairs and improve the well-being and quality life of their constituents.

The following organizations work closely with the Alaska Municipal League and many of them conduct their Annual Meetings in conjunction with the Alaska Municipal League’s Annual Conference each December.
